Are you a small animal vet looking for a role in a practice that balances a great caseload, brilliant facilities, and a truly fun, close-knit team culture?
Our client, a highly respected small animal practice based in beautiful Dorset, is known for its energetic, welcoming team and its commitment to both clinical excellence and quality of life.
This is an opportunity to join a team of nine experienced vets working across two sister sites, alongside an outstanding nursing and front-of-house team. The practice environment is open, sociable, and supportive—where team spirit is as important as skill set, and development is genuinely encouraged.
The caseload is as diverse as the team, with certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, exotics, and rehabilitation, plus a dedicated in-house orthopaedics service. A full CT suite and continual investment in equipment mean there’s everything you need to grow clinically. If you’re looking to specialise, our client will support you every step of the way—including full funding for certificates.
This role would suit a vet at any stage of their career, including new graduates, with structured VetGDP mentorship already in place. Several graduates who joined in recent years remain with the practice today—proof of how well-supported the environment is. Full-time hours are preferred (four days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturdays), but part-time applicants are very welcome to apply. And crucially, there are no out-of-hours, no Sundays, no bank holidays, and no sole charge.
Dorset offers the perfect lifestyle backdrop—whether you're into surfing, paddleboarding, walking along the Jurassic Coast, or simply soaking up the south coast sunshine. With easy transport links, local ferries, and its own airport, the area is well connected while offering a real sense of escape.
Salary starts at £35,000 for a new graduate and rises with experience. Benefits include 6.6 weeks' holiday, £1,750 CPD allowance with 5 days' paid leave, funded memberships, HealthShield wellness plan, enhanced parental pay, generous retail perks, cycle to work scheme, and structured development support. VetPartners’ Graduate Development Programme is offered to new grads.
This is a rare chance to join a genuinely happy team in a progressive, well-equipped practice that truly walks the talk when it comes to work-life balance.
