This established, forward-thinking small animal practice in the North East of England is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to its expanding team. There is also scope for a more senior appointment for those interested in mentoring and leadership responsibility.

This long-standing practice has been serving its local community for over 70 years and operates across four sites, with a busy main hospital and surrounding branches. The team prides itself on delivering high standards of patient care within a friendly, supportive environment.
Clinical depth is a real strength here, with certificate holders across surgery, dentistry, imaging, cardiology and minimally invasive surgery, supported by an experienced nursing team including certificate holders in medicine and anaesthesia.
Facilities include ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, endoscopy and laparoscopy, with plans to introduce CT at the new site.
The practice offers structured diary management, including 20-minute consultations, protected time for admin and client communication, and daily capacity for emergencies. This allows for thorough case work-ups and high-quality client care without excessive time pressure.
The team is ideally seeking a vet confident with routine consultations and surgery, comfortable with occasional sole charge.
There is additional opportunity for a senior vet looking to take on mentoring responsibilities, including GDP advisory support and guiding less experienced colleagues. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.
 
The Role:
  • Salary: Competitive (DOE)
  • Full-time, 40 hours pw + 1 in 4 Saturdays, no OOH
