If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely enjoy your work again, supported by kind colleagues, a steady pace and a practice that truly values wellbeing, this opportunity in Cardiff could be the right fit for you
This friendly, standalone practice has recently undergone a thoughtful renovation, creating a bright, modern environment with plenty of space and a calm, organised feel. With a loyal client base, varied caseload and supportive culture, it's the kind of place where vets can settle in and feel appreciated.
You'll be joining a longstanding, collaborative team of veterinarians, nurses, receptionists and support staff who enjoy working closely together. On a typical day, you'll work alongside four vets, two experienced RVNs, two VCAs and three receptionists. Both practice owners are committed mentors who have supported their assistant vets from graduation to between one and six years qualified, showing how invested they are in clinical growth and personal development. One is GDP-certified and an excellent surgical trainer.
The role itself is a balanced GP position across medicine and surgery, ideal for a vet who enjoys continuity of care and the friendly rhythm of community practice. The workload is steady and well managed, with 15-minute consultations that can be extended whenever needed, and plenty of protected admin time built into the diary to support both the team and patient care. There is no out-of-hours work.
The practice benefits from excellent public transport links, easy access to major road networks, and the added bonus of beautiful countryside and coastal scenery close by. The location helps create a diverse and engaging caseload while maintaining a welcoming, community-focused feel.
Salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £65,000 FTE depending on experience, along with 5.6 weeks of holiday, life assurance at four times annual salary, a contributory pension, paid RCVS, BVA and VDS memberships, and a generous CPD allowance. There is also a Cycle to Work scheme and an array of additional lifestyle and retail rewards.
If this sounds like the supportive, steady and genuinely enjoyable role you've been hoping for, I'd be delighted to share more details and learn what you're looking for in your next step.
