At Vetmatch, we’re delighted to be supporting a rare opportunity for a Senior RVN to step into a leadership role within the ECC and hospital team at a truly exceptional 24-hour hospital in South West London.
This independently run flagship site has a rich heritage, tracing its roots back to the 1890s, and has grown into a state-of-the-art facility offering everything from primary care to emergency and advanced hospital services under one roof.
Following a major refurbishment and expansion, the hospital blends history with cutting-edge capability. The team here takes enormous pride in offering compassionate, continuous care to generations of pets and their families. As a family-owned practice, the ethos is centred on kindness, integrity, and collaboration. There’s a warm, approachable feel to the leadership, and a genuine investment in the people who make up the team.
This role is central to the smooth running of the ECC and hospital function. You’ll take responsibility for day-to-day clinical operations alongside the lead hospital vet and clinical management team. That means supporting and developing the ECC nursing team, overseeing inpatients, ensuring gold-standard care is delivered throughout every stage of the patient journey, and contributing to a culture of ongoing learning and team cohesion.
As Senior Nurse, you’ll also lead on nurse training—supporting apprentices, running nursing clinics, and acting as a designated Clinical Coach. Your clinical knowledge will be drawn on for everything from diagnostic workups and radiography to lab work and inpatient rounds. You’ll be involved in rota planning, stock control, and equipment maintenance, making this a highly involved and rewarding leadership position for someone who thrives on responsibility and teamwork.
The rota follows a 7-on, 7-off pattern, alternating between days and nights (either 8am–8pm or 8pm–8am), giving you an enviable balance of focused work time and protected downtime—ideal for travel, wellbeing, or simply recharging. The salary is up to £35,000
This would suit a confident, proactive RVN with strong clinical skills, natural leadership qualities, and a love for emergency and hospital work. Whether you're already in a senior position or ready to step up, this is an environment where your voice will be heard, your contributions will be valued, and your development genuinely supported.
If you're ready to join a team where collaboration, compassion, and clinical excellence come together in one of South West London’s most respected hospitals, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch today for a confidential chat and let’s explore whether this could be your perfect match.
