We have a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, 100% small animal practice in Essex.
If you're someone who values clinical freedom, enjoys working up your own cases, and is committed to professional growth, this could be your perfect next step.
You'll be working in a close-knit, supportive team that includes four other vets, experienced RVNs, and dedicated support staff, all working at the top of their game. The practice runs a relaxed, low-stress environment where quality of care comes first, and everyone’s voice is heard.
This is a full-time or part-time permanent role, depending on what suits you best. A typical full-time week is four days, with hours from 08:30 to 18:30. Weekend work is limited to a 1:4 rota, covering Saturday and Sunday mornings only, and there are no out-of-hours responsibilities. Consults are scheduled for 9–11am and 4–6.30pm, leaving a dedicated block between 11am and 4pm for surgical procedures.
With over 150 years of history in the area, this RCVS-accredited practice is deeply rooted in the local community and prides itself on a progressive, client-focused approach. Whether you're ready to bring your surgical expertise or are looking to refine a particular clinical interest, you’ll find support, autonomy, and a healthy work-life balance here.
Located in the heart of Essex, the practice is based in a peaceful area with great links to Colchester, Chelmsford, London, and the coast. It’s an ideal location for someone who enjoys a blend of countryside calm and urban convenience.
The role comes with a salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience, 6.6 weeks' paid holiday including bank holidays, a £1,750 CPD allowance, and full professional memberships covered. Additional benefits include Health Shield coverage, enhanced parental leave, discounted veterinary fees, structured training support, and an employee wellbeing focus.
If you're ready to join a team that truly values your contribution and supports your growth, we’d love to hear from you.
