Vetmatch is currently working with a well-regarded and modern small animal practice in Surrey that is now seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to step into a senior position within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety and continuity of general practice while also seeking to take on greater clinical responsibility and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice.
The role is offered on a four-day week, with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota and a 1 in 10 Sunday commitment at a nearby hospital, alongside up to two bank holidays per year at the same referral site.
The rota has been thoughtfully designed to support work-life balance, and with additional recruitment underway, there will be no routine sole charge outside of occasional Saturday shifts. The practice is equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, walk-in kennels, and a spacious open-plan prep area and reception space. Clinical standards are high, and the team is experienced, friendly, and well supported by a strong nursing and client care team.
As a senior veterinary surgeon, the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior RVN to uphold clinical quality, support daily workflow and diary management, and foster a positive, cohesive team culture.
The practice also benefits from close links to a 24-hour hospital for complex referrals and out-of-hours care, providing peace of mind and continuity for both clients and team members.
This role offers a competitive salary between £64,000 and £85,000 FTE, depending on experience and scope for future growth. Additional benefits include 6.6 weeks of annual leave including bank holidays, private medical insurance with Bupa, up to £2,000 CPD allowance per annum with five days’ paid CPD leave, and generous relocation assistance where applicable.
Situated in the heart of Surrey, the practice enjoys excellent transport links to London, including sought-after areas such as Richmond and Wimbledon. For those who enjoy travel or need international access, Gatwick Airport is just 30 minutes away, making this role ideal for vets seeking both professional fulfilment and a well-connected lifestyle.
