Our client is offering a rare and exciting opportunity for an equine veterinary surgeon to join their dedicated team in Greater Cambridgeshire.
This role focuses on out-of-hours care, with a structured week-on, week-off rota, providing true work-life balance and the chance to be a key part of a respected, forward-thinking practice. The successful candidate will cover approximately 50% of the first-call OOH rota, working in tandem with another out-of-hours vet and always supported by a second on-call clinician.
This is a well-equipped, progressive practice providing high-quality care to a varied equine caseload. While the role is primarily ambulatory, full access is provided to the clinic’s excellent facilities, including stabling, knock-down box, surgical suite, stocks, digital radiography, ultrasound, and video endoscopy. The team includes multiple RCVS certificate holders and clinicians with a wide range of clinical interests, creating an ideal environment for learning and collaboration.
There may also be the option to take on additional day shifts for those seeking to supplement their income, and the practice is open to tailoring the role around the right candidate’s interests and availability. Administrative tasks are streamlined through bespoke mobile apps developed in-house, supporting everything from rota management to remote access of the PMS, making your working life smoother and more efficient.
The role is well suited to a vet looking for a better balance, with the structure allowing only half the year on duty and ample flexibility for personal time or travel.
One week of annual leave per year allows for a three-week holiday by swapping rota weeks. CPD is funded and actively encouraged, with additional support available for those working toward or holding certificates.
The salary offered ranges from £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience. The benefits package includes paid RCVS, VDS, and two further memberships, Health Shield support for wellbeing treatments, enhanced parental leave, staff discounts, cycle-to-work scheme, CPD allowance, sick pay, annual pay reviews, and access to a wide range of lifestyle perks through the My Perks platform.
This is a unique opportunity to join a tech-savvy, clinically progressive equine practice that truly values its team, offering a highly flexible and rewarding role for the right candidate.
