Vetmatch is proud to be representing a thriving independent practice in Oxford that is continuing its exciting journey following a successful transition from corporate back to private ownership.
With continued growth and investment throughout 2024, our client is now looking to welcome another exceptional veterinary surgeon to join their talented and forward-thinking day team.
This is a rare opportunity to join a practice that has been deliberately and thoughtfully rebuilt—handpicking a team of ortho specialists, internal medicine and imaging experts, endo surgeons, and experienced general practitioners. Clinical standards are high, but so is the value placed on work-life balance, with a four-day week as standard and the option for a three-day week if preferred. Following a 1 in 4 weekend rota, the team enjoys a reduced two-day week to recharge, recognising the intensity of hospital caseloads and the need to prioritise wellbeing.
The practice is equipped with an outstanding range of modern tools, including a Karl Storz endoscopy tower, advanced imaging, a full orthopaedic theatre, dental radiography, laser therapy, and much more. Further investment is ongoing, with the next phase enabling full, round-the-clock inpatient care—enhancing continuity and clinical control for those who value patient follow-through.
The working environment is progressive and energising, underpinned by a senior leadership team with over 80 years of experience in nurturing and developing veterinary professionals. There’s a clear pathway for growth, with generous CPD and full support to pursue individual interests, certificates, or clinical specialisms.
This role offers a salary of up to £75,000 depending on experience, secure parking behind the practice, and the chance to be part of something special—an independent team that has reclaimed its identity, standards, and spirit.
Located in the heart of Oxford, this position combines access to a vibrant, cultured city with proximity to the countryside—ideal for those seeking both stimulation and balance.
If you’re a driven, progressive vet who wants to be part of an independent team where investment, autonomy, and clinical excellence are at the core—this is the one to watch.
