Are you an experienced small animal vet ready to step into a supportive, clinically progressive leadership role? Our client, a well-established independent practice in North London, is seeking a compassionate and capable Lead Veterinary Surgeon to guide their team and champion high-quality, individualised patient care.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead within a practice that values longer consultations, continuity of care, and meaningful relationships with clients—while also offering the autonomy and support to develop your clinical and leadership skills.
What’s on Offer:
  • Competitive salary
  • 4-day week with 1 in 3 Saturdays (day off in lieu)
  • No out-of-hours
  • Protected time for 30-minute morning and afternoon ward rounds
  • 20–30 minute consults with time allocated for follow-ups and client communication
  • Structured surgical and procedural blocks within your working day
Why This Role Stands Out:
  • Independent ethos with a strong focus on client education and bespoke treatment plans
  • Well-equipped facilities including dental radiography, in-house lab, ultrasound, endoscopy, and multiparameter monitoring
  • Supported by visiting specialists in cardiology, imaging, and advanced surgery
  • A warm, respectful working culture with emphasis on clinical freedom, collaboration, and development
We’d Love to Hear from You If You:
  • Have at least 5 years of UK small animal experience
  • Are confident in medicine, surgery, and emergency care
  • Enjoy leading by example and supporting clinical colleagues
  • Take pride in delivering thoughtful, relationship-based care
  • Have an interest in dentistry (beneficial but not essential)
If you're seeking a role with real clinical freedom, strong team culture, and the chance to lead with empathy and integrity, this could be the perfect next chapter in your veterinary journey.
