Join an independent GP-plus practice where clinical standards, professional trust and a supportive team come together.
This growing independent small animal practice in Suffolk is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least one year of clinical experience to join its team.
The practice has grown significantly since opening just over four years ago and now has 7 vets, including 4 certificate holders, supported by an experienced nursing and client care team.
The ethos is straightforward: provide excellent first-opinion care, invest in the right facilities and expertise, and give vets the support and autonomy to do their best work.
You'll work across a varied first-opinion medical and surgical caseload, with the facilities and clinical expertise to investigate and manage many cases in-house.

You'll be expected to:
  • Consult and work up medical and surgical cases
  • Develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Explain diagnoses, options, risks and costs clearly to clients
  • Work closely with RVNs and the wider clinical team
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Use your professional judgement to make clinical decisions
  • Discuss or escalate complex cases when appropriate
  • Support safe delegation and effective clinical workflow
There is genuine clinical freedom, with experienced colleagues available to discuss cases and provide support when needed.
The practice has invested heavily in its facilities and equipment, including CT, Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, high-quality ultrasonography, full in-house laboratory, ventilators and multiparameter monitoring for every general anaesthetic
The team includes experienced vets with different clinical interests, creating opportunities for case discussion, mentoring and development.
CPD and certificates are supported, with scope to develop an area of interest such as medicine, surgery, imaging, cardiology, dentistry or another area that fits both your interests and the needs of the practice.
There are also opportunities to become involved in service improvement, clinical protocols, mentoring or future leadership. For those interested in practice ownership in the longer term, there may be opportunities to explore this through VetLaunch, although this is entirely optional.
The nursing team plays a central role in patient care and works closely with the vets throughout the day.
The practice aims to create an environment where vets are trusted to use their professional judgement and teams collaborate and learn from each other, with patient welfare remaining central to clinical decisions.
The practice also operates a model where the whole team shares in the success of the business, helping create a strong sense of collective responsibility.
Applications are welcomed from experienced vets as well as those earlier in their careers who are looking for a supportive environment in which to develop.

The Package:
  • Salary: £45,000 - £85,000 (DOE)
  • 4-day working week
  • No OOH or bank holidays
  • Funded CPD and certificate support
  • RCVS and professional subscriptions paid
  • Private medical insurance
