This busy, RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital is seeking an Out-of-Hours Veterinary Nurse to join its dedicated night team. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys clinical autonomy, and wants exposure to a diverse and rewarding ECC caseload.
Working alongside a dedicated night vet, nursing team, and support staff, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional overnight patient care while managing a wide range of medical and surgical emergencies.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing and monitoring emergency and critical care patients
- Supporting emergency surgeries including caesareans, pyometras and exploratory procedures
- Nursing complex medical cases
- Performing clinical workups and diagnostics
- Delivering high standards of inpatient care and monitoring
- Working closely with the night veterinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Previous ECC or out-of-hours experience preferred
- Confident working independently and making clinical decisions
- Strong inpatient care and anaesthesia monitoring skills
- Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
- Keen to continue developing your ECC knowledge and skills
The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities including CT, laparoscopy, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, transfusion medicine, dental radiography, and dedicated species-specific wards, providing nurses with the tools and support needed to deliver the highest standards of care.
The Package:
- Salary: £30,000
- 27-hours pw
- 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota
- £500 CPD allowance
