Are you an experienced RVN who enjoys the focus and autonomy of night work—but still wants to feel part of a genuinely supportive, forward-thinking team?
We're working with a progressive veterinary group launching a brand-new, purpose-built 24-hour hospital in Central London, and they're looking for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to play a key role in their out-of-hours service.
This is an opportunity to step into a state-of-the-art environment where nursing care is truly valued, and where you'll have the time, equipment, and trust to deliver the highest standards of patient care.
Why this opportunity stands out
This hospital has been designed with both patients and clinicians in mind. Spanning three floors and 4,500 sq ft, it offers a modern, thoughtfully laid-out space that supports excellent clinical standards and a calm, efficient workflow overnight.
Facilities include four consult rooms, two operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, full in-house laboratory, CT scanner and advanced imaging, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy services, and separate dog and cat wards to ensure optimal patient care.
You'll be working with high-quality equipment including ventilators, advanced anaesthesia machines, uMEC12 monitoring systems, ultrasound, IMV X-ray, and laparoscopic and endoscopy equipment.
This is an environment where nursing skills are fully utilised and respected.
The role
This position would suit an RVN with at least one to two years' post-qualification experience who is confident in inpatient care, monitoring anaesthesia, and supporting emergency cases.
You'll play a vital role in the overnight team, providing hands-on nursing care to inpatients, assisting with any emergency procedures, and ensuring continuity of care through to the day team.
There is real opportunity here to use your full skillset, take ownership of your cases, and work with a high level of clinical autonomy while still feeling supported.
The rota is a highly desirable 7 nights on, 14 nights off pattern, offering an excellent work-life balance and time to properly recharge between rotations.
The ethos and culture
This is a team that truly values its nurses.
You'll be encouraged to use your clinical judgement, contribute to patient care decisions, and develop your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. Night staff are seen as an integral part of the hospital, not separate from it.
There is a strong focus on wellbeing, open communication, and creating a positive culture where everyone feels respected and heard.
Progression is also a key part of the offering. Whether you're looking to develop your ECC skills, pursue further qualifications, or move into a senior or leadership nursing role over time, you'll be supported in shaping your career.
What's on offer
Salary will be discussed at interview and is highly competitive.
You'll benefit from a structured and balanced rota, access to advanced facilities, and the chance to be part of a brand-new hospital from the very beginning.
Most importantly, you'll join a team where your contribution is recognised, your development is supported, and you are genuinely valued.
A Vetmatch perspective
At Vetmatch, we know that great nurses are at the heart of exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for an RVN who wants to work in a modern, well-equipped hospital where their skills are respected and their wellbeing is prioritised.
If you're considering a move into a more rewarding and balanced night role, I'd love to talk you through this in more detail.
