Are you an experienced vet ready to take the next step into a clinical leadership role where you can genuinely influence standards, mentor others, and still enjoy a healthy work-life balance?
This well-equipped, forward-thinking independent practice in coastal Hampshire is looking for a Head Vet to lead and inspire their friendly, close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who enjoys combining high clinical standards with people leadership, and who wants to help shape the future direction of a growing practice.
You'll be joining a modern, purpose-built surgery with excellent facilities, a collaborative culture, and a team that's passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. Many team members are actively pursuing further qualifications and certificates, creating an environment where clinical development and continuous learning are genuinely encouraged.
This is a hands-on clinical leadership position where you'll play a key role in driving standards, supporting colleagues, and helping the practice continue its journey towards clinical excellence.

Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll:
  • Lead and mentor the vet team
  • Support clinical development and evidence-based medicine
  • Help shape the strategic direction of the practice
  • Foster a positive, supportive team culture
  • Encourage continuous improvement across patient and client care
Previous leadership experience is welcomed, but equally important is the ability to inspire, communicate well, and create a positive team environment.

The Offer:
  • Salary: from £75,000+ (DOE)
  • 4-day week with 1:4 weekends
  • Generous CPD allowance
  • Funded professional memberships
  • Internal leadership development and training
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Income protection
  • Electric car scheme
  • Health and wellbeing support services
  • Staff discounts and wider lifestyle benefits
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Quarterly recognition payments
For a vet who want progression without sacrificing wellbeing, this role offers an excellent balance of autonomy, support, and long-term opportunity.
