Are you passionate about animal wellbeing and looking for something genuinely different from a traditional grooming role?
We're recruiting for a unique opportunity within a beautifully designed, wellness-focused veterinary environment in Central London. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in both the craft of grooming and the quality of care they provide, and who wants to work as part of a progressive multidisciplinary team.
This is far more than a standard grooming position. You'll be delivering bespoke 60-minute wellness spa sessions tailored to each patient, combining grooming treatments with a range of non-invasive therapies in a calm, luxurious setting designed to make pets and owners feel at ease.
The environment is modern, design-led, and maintained to an exceptionally high standard, with a strong emphasis on patient wellbeing, low-stress handling, and a collaborative approach to care.
The role
You'll take ownership of personalised spa sessions from start to finish, delivering a calm and polished experience while tailoring treatments to the individual needs of each pet.
Responsibilities include:
- Bathing, coat care, drying, brushing, de-shedding, and de-matting
- Trims and tidies, including face, feet, sanitary trims, and breed-standard grooming depending on experience
- Nail clipping, paw care, and basic oral hygiene treatments
- Eye and ear cleaning and coat maintenance
- Delivering non-invasive wellness therapies including red light therapy, PEMF, laser, heat therapy, massage, aromatherapy, and sound therapy
- Monitoring patient wellbeing and liaising closely with the veterinary and physiotherapy teams when concerns are identified
- Advising owners on aftercare and follow-up wellness recommendations
- Maintaining immaculate treatment and spa areas at all times
You'll work closely alongside veterinary surgeons, RVNs, and physiotherapists, supporting a joined-up approach to patient care for post-operative, mobility, dermatology, and senior pet cases.
What we're looking for
- Experience in professional dog or cat grooming, pet care therapy, or animal handling
- Grooming qualifications are welcomed but not essential
- Confident handling a range of breeds, temperaments, and patient needs
- Calm, patient, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation and standards
- Comfortable working as part of a clinical team environment
- An interest in complementary therapies and holistic wellbeing approaches
- Warm, professional communication skills with clients
Experience within a veterinary or referral environment, low-stress handling methods, hand-stripping, or therapeutic treatments would be advantageous but is not essential.
What's on offer
- Competitive salary with annual reviews
- Funded training in wellness therapies and further professional development
- Genuine progression opportunities within a growing wellness-focused service
- The opportunity to work in beautifully finished, spa-like clinical spaces
- A collaborative team culture where your contribution is genuinely valued
- Staff discounts, pension, paid holiday, and uniform provided
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a modern, progressive approach to animal care where wellness, rehabilitation, and patient experience are all equally important.
